Annual Meeting 30th December, 2003 The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M. by the President Chris Green, at the Masonic Temple, Greenwich Street, Brantford Present: 49 members as per the Register. Lodges represented: 13 of 13. Regrets; were received from Bert Barker, Fred Kalliokowski, Ted Payne, Gerry Buryta; Craig Terreberry; Richard Eyre; Bob Swayze; Ralph Baldwin Deceased Brethren; Onondaga: R.W. Bro. John Steer King Solomon: R. W. Bro. Alan Newell Lynden: W. Bro. Robert Black A minute’s silence was held in their memory. The minutes of the previous annual meeting of 30th of December, 2002 were adopted as read on a motion by J. Herron and seconded by H. Devereux. - CARRIED No business arising from the minutes. Correspondence; None Treasurer's Report; General Account $1,471.72 Regalia Account $2,677.76 (plus $2,000.00 G.I.C. Investments) Life Account $565.06 (plus $4500.12 G.I.C. Investments) It was moved by Ron Stinson and seconded by R. Shoup that,” the Treasurer’s and the Auditors’ report s be accepted as presented.” - CARRIED Reports of Committee's Membership Committee Jack Osborne reported that all Masters and the Wardens of the 3 Lodges which have had Installations have signed for membership. He mentioned the on-going problem of maintaining correct addresses for members. The report is appended in full. Long Range Planning Committee No report at this time. Regalia Committee No report at this time. Blood Donors Committee Report – Brethren were reminded of the Blood Clinic on February 14. Masonic Foundation Committee - No report Communications and Social Committee - No report D.D.G.M. Report A copy of the report is appended to the Minutes. The report is appended in full. New Business On motion of Bill Topp, seconded by G. Stapleton, the By-Laws of the Association were amended. A complete list of Amendments, as passed, are appended. All members of the Association will be sent a revised copy of the By-Laws with amended revisions. The intention of nomination for D.D.G.M. were called for from the following Lodges. 2004 - 2005 Reba No. 515 Eric Davidson, moved by A. Cameron. Nominations closed on motion of K. Grisewood 2005 – 2006 St. John’s No. 35 Bill Topp, moved by D. Hannah. Nominations closed on motion of A. Cameron 2006 – 2007 Lynden No. 505 Randy Hunt, moved by D. Knight. Nominations closed on motion of B. Topp 2007 – 2008 Brant No. 45 Jack Herron, moved by B. Clarke. Nominations closed on motion of R. Angus 2007 - 2008 Hiram No. 319 None at this time. Association events: Masters’ Night – hosted by Scotland Lodge, 193 – Monday, May 10, 2004 Wardens’ Night – hosted by Lynden Lodge 505 – Thursday, October 28, 2004 On motion of R. Stinson, seconded by J. Kitchen: A $100.00 donation is to be sent to the Brant Masonic Temple in recognition of our use of the building for meetings of the Association. Election of Officers The Nominating Committee submitted the name of Bill Topp for President, Randy Hunt for 1st Vice President, Richard Eyre for 2nd Vice President, Jack Herron for Secretary, and Ron Stinson for Treasurer. The floor was opened for further nominations. Auditors named as follows: Don Sandison and Keith Post. It was moved by B. Shoup and seconded by H. Devereux that nominations be closed. The President declared the candidates elected by acclamation. R.W.Bro. Dan Dawson proclaimed the Officers duly elected and installed in their respective offices. President, Bill Topp congratulated the newly installed officers and expressed and thanked the members for their confidence. Other Notes; Jack Shaver noted that Scotland Lodge would hold an appreciation night honouring Gord Frew , on Monday, March 8, 2004. St. John’s Lodge #82 will hold its annual Ham Supper and Bingo on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the Optomist Hall in Paris. Time was not noted. Tickets are available from Officers at $15.00. It was suggested that it would be good to attend after donating at the Blood Clinic. The members were given a presentation on the District Web Site current status and on the new plans to add interactive elements to increase its usefulness to the District. An outline was prepared and circulated to those in attendance. It was noted that his Site won an “Honourable Mention” from Grand Lodge last year, and, if a review if other District Sites is any indicator, it still stands as one of the leading Sites in the jurisdiction. Stephen Clarke, the Webmaster, was thanked by J. Herron. It was noted that our District Site operates as a sub-unit of Stephen’s personal web site. The Executive will consider the viability of getting its own domain name and relieving Stephen’s site of the bandwidth load of the District Site. The members enjoyed a good social time following. Executive Meeting: Thursday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m., in the Temple, Greenwich Street, Brantford. The next annual meeting was to be scheduled for Thursday, December 30th, 2004 at 7:30 P.M.
