MINUTES OR THE ANNUAL MEETING HELD DECEMBER 18 2008 The meeting was opened at 7:35 PM by President Don Elliott Regrets were received from RWB Bill Topp WB Bill Cuncliffe WB Denis Paquette VWB Jim Telfer VWB Howard Misner RWB Bill Lawrence VWB Reg Glass Bro Al Watkinson WB Ben Mannen & VWB Emill Fritzer The minutes of the last annual meeting held December 20 2007 were read and having no errors or ommissions were adopted as read by WB Don Elliott WB Tom Young from Licoln Lodge in Hamilton "B" District gave a very interesting presentation on the success of their District wide open house. Committee reports DDGM---RWB Steve DeKruyf reported that he has been making many visits within as well as out of the District. Membership---RWB Randy Hunt gave the attached membership report on behalf of VWB Jim Telfer , A moment of remberance was acknowledged by the members for VWB Cecil McMartin and WB Scott Cranson who had passed to the Grand Lodge above during the last 12 months. Long Range Planning---RWB Jack Herron spoke on plans of starting a District program to help better prepare the Wardens in becoming Masters and reviewing the manner in which the District is choosing their candidates for the posistion of DDGM. Regalia----RWB Randy Hunt gave the attached report on behalf of VWB Jim Telfer and it was decided to form the committe to look into the Districts Regalia at a later date when VWB Jim Telfer was in attendance. Masonic Education----No Report , however RWB Randy Hunt read a report from VWB Jim Telfer on the goals of the Committee of Masonic Education for the upcoming year. History-----RWB Bill Clarke reported that the draft copy of the District's history is being updated regularly and he is hoping to be able to add pictures in the near future. Social-----WB Allan Durnford reported that a profit of $50.44 was made during the past year. MasoniCHIP------It was reported that Wilson 113 held a MasoniCHIP event on December 13 2008 and 31 children were processed with I.D. Jack Herron made mention that all MasoniCHIP programs that have been held in the District have been very successful and that Brant 45 had the largest number of people processed at one event in Ontario to date. It was also mentioned that we must also encourage high school and college age people have their I.D. done as they are the age group most prone to abduction. Grand Master's Reception's----WB Bob Hamilton gave an update on the progress of Wilson 113's reception and gave a detailed update on the progress of the monument , remembering the Souvern Mills story from the war of 1812. RWB Steve DeKruyf spoke on behalf of the Brethern from Burford Lodge 106 thanking the Association for all the help and support in making their Grand Masters Banquet a great success. It was moved by RWB Don Sandison and 2nd by RWB Steve DeKruyf that the auditors report given by WB Allan Haggith be accepted. CARRIED It was moved by RWB Ron Stinson and 2nd by RWB Bill Clarke that he attached treasurers report be accepted. President Haggith announced that the first executive meeting for 2009 would be held on January 22 2009 The meeting was closed on a motion by WB Don Elliott
