R.W. Bro. T. Clayton Oliver

Clayton Oliver was born April 29, 1929 at R. R. #3 Princeton in Burford Township in the County of Brant. He attended S.S. #9 in Burford Township, Burford High School, and Ontario Agricultural College short courses.
Active in community service, Clayton volunteered as a 4-H club leader for 12 years and served as President of the Brant County Junior Farmers in 1957, Past Director of the Brant County Crop Improvement Association, Brant Hog Producers Association, and Past President of the Brant Milk Trucking Cooperative. Clayton also served as Chairman of the Flying Farmers Committee for the 1990 International Plowing Match in Brant County and Chairman of the Water Services Committee for the 1995 Match in Waterloo County. Clayton is a life-long member of The United Church of Canada.
Clayton and his wife Janet were married in 1959 and have two children, a son Jeffrey who is Chief Pilot for SkyService, and a daughter, Mary who is Sales Operations Manager for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. They also have four grandsons, Steven and Bradley Oliver and Jack and Cameron Mordue.
Clayton purchased his father’s farm in 1959, operating it as a dairy farm until he retired in 1986. He worked for the Ontario Ministry of the Environment until 1995 and drove airport limousine until November of 2003. He remains active as a greeter / helper at Dennis Toll Funeral Home in Brantford.
A third generation Mason, Clayton was initiated at St. John’s Lodge No. 82 in October, 1981. He served as W.M. of St. John’s Lodge No. 82 in 1988, receiving his 32nd Degree Scottish Rite in 1986 and T.P.G.M of Woodstock Lodge of Perfection in 1996.
